Happy Birthday Kona!

Our tribute to Kona

This time last year we picked little Kona out of a box of kittens. Her face was so cute, but little did we know she was a little fireball...

At first, she wanted to eat all of our food. Now, she sits patiently for the scraps...she is like a dog..

Kona thought Scrabble was a game for her to play too. Every time we layed down a letter, she would swat it to move it.

Eventually we let her win....

She has grown so much, but she still does the same things. She attacks our feet when we are on the couch. She finds places to hide and curl up. And she seems to think the computer mouse is a real mouse that she should attack. Which means that she uses her claws and I have to kick her out of the office room so that I can get any work done :) But look at how much she has grown!

There is something about the way she soothes me. She comes up and curls up on my lap and everything I was thinking about it just disappears. Sometimes she sleeps on top of me, which is my favorite :) I am going to miss her in Oregon!!!

This is how she feels about it too- this is our box of support letters that we were working on...

The Pants War

I decided that since Bryan and I will be moving into our parents loft, we better start getting rid of stuff now. When Bryan and I used to have cable in our apartment we would watch King of Queens and Everybody loves Raymond to wind-down after we got home from work. I specifically remember one episode of Everybody loves Raymond where Ray and Debra fought over a suitcase. Ray had gone out of town and we got home he didn't have time to take the suitcase upstairs and unpack it so he left it on the stairs. He figured after a few days that Debra would do it, but it became an unspoken battle. Neither would touch it.
Bryan and I laughed and talked about how we do that to each other. Usually its with left-overs. It stays in the Rubbermaid and gets moldy until one of us cracks and cleans it out. Gross I know!
Well, Bryan has an ungodly amount of pants that have been given to him that he never wears! He doesn't even know they exist because they have been sitting on top of his closet since we moved. And so I do a little nagging...

What happens when you nag? Well, I don't know about you, but my husband shuts off. And so, I started to play around about these pants. I would say, I know what we should do today! We should decide what pants you want and which ones you can get rid of! Fun game right?

So this weekend we had some down time on Saturday and I said lets get rid of those pants and he said what he always says, "I'll do it tomorrow." Finally I said, you have been saying that for a year!!

He layed down on the bed and out of jest, this is what happened...

And, what happened after that? It got done!!! The pants war ended and all were happy :)
No one got mad like in the case of Ray and Debra, but it got done and the pants are ready to go to Salvation Army.
