The beginning of different...

Well, its official. I got the text message. Josh and Tiffany say, "We are on our way! We will miss you! Come visit!"

Its the beginning of things being different in our family. Josh and Tiffany are moving to Hilo, Hawaii to be worship leaders at Calvary Chapel Hilo and serve the Lord for a minimum of a year. I will miss them terribly.

I liked the fact that my family was close. This year will be different. This holiday, especially, will be different. Josh is our comic relief. He makes noises, jokes, and impersonations to create the humor at the dinner table. We have family traditions that just won't be the same. This is the first Christmas that I can remember that we will be spending away from each other. Bryan and I will be spending it with Bryan's family. We usually come to my parents on Christmas morning but we are staying for his vacation at his parent's house.
This is also the first Christmas that Josh and Tiffany are spending together as a married couple, and they have neither of the families. I imagine it is going to be hard to be in 80 degree weather getting into the Christmas spirit without the family. My parents tried to make it a little easier. They gave each of us a beautiful manger scene from Israel, the same one that Grammy gave Mom and we grew up with. We all cried. Josh and Tiffany had been looking for the perfect manger scene to take to Hawaii, and it was a God thing.
Josh and Tiffany have the opportunity to start a tradition this year. A tradition that could be passed on to their family (when they have children!). I know it will be hard to be away from family for both holidays but this is the place that God called them to.
I will miss them but I know that God is going to use them mightily in music and ministering to others.
I ask you all to be in prayer for Josh and Tiffany in their travels and also finding a place to live, a car to drive, and settling in to a new land.
We love you Josh and Tiffany!

We are honored that you blogged about us this morning. Hawaii is definitely a far cry from the home we grew up at in Salisbury. We are hoping that this week we can begin to make this place look a little more like home.

Thank you for your prayers and thoughts...we miss you!! Take care! Gobble Gobble!

Being the Aunt and speaking from experience, I can encourage you that every year will be different but the same because we have the same Spirit within us. Even though we are far apart we are still close. How do you like those paradoxes?
