Antelope, Oregon - YL Wildhorse Canyon
First of all, YES we are alive! We made it to Oregon and have settled into our condo (kind of :/)
So there is a lot ot catch up on our road trip and at this point I can't think of anything else except this amazing place that I am now living. So, I will have to fill you on the road trip later!
On Wednesday October 1st Bryan and I headed from Portland to Antelope. We figured since this is the first sign we saw, that the camp would be REALLY obvious!
However, that was not the case! Bryan and I passed through the little town of Antelope and saw no sign of a YL camp. We were using our handy-dandy GPS but no camp in sight. Then we saw a caravan - a couple of Subaru's and cars with bikes and kayaks- they HAD to be interns moving in! So we turned around and followed their dust up a dirt road for I think 12 miles. It was FOREVER!!!!!!! Bryan and I were both thinking, what did we get ourselves into?
But we got there, and got escorted to our condo. I am not exaggerating when I say that this place is HUGE!!!!! YL owns 64,000 acres of land out here!!! This is unlike any camp that I have ever seen. There are rows and rows of housing and abandoned buildings all from the Rajneesh cult. It is amazing what God has done and how He is using this land that was once used to brainwash, and now used to bring people into the Kingdom.
We pull up to our condo and it is beautiful- a little bare but beautiful! We have a large kitchen, mud room, entryway, living room, and 6 bedrooms. Yes 6! Needless to say, we have plenty of room to spread out.
Since we have been here we have been on information overload. Bryan and I and the rest of the Guest Services team have been receiving our AE Certification for all of the ropes equipment. We did the high ropes course, swing, pamper pole, rock wall, and zip line. The funny thing was that we had to actually do the zip line to get certified. It was about 50 degrees this morning when we had to test- it was FREEZING!!!!!
So my official job here is housekeeping and Guest Services, so my job will always be changing which is great. Bryan got put on the maintenance crew and Guest Services. We have been training the past few days and tested today to get our certification. Tomorrow is our first day off and all of the interns are planning on going into Madras which is about an hour away to do some shopping. One thing that is on my list is a toothbrush holder :)
Here is a peek at the lovely lady interns!

The zipline may have stretched me a little much...I hate cold weather! It's 39 here this morning...
I am willing to bet those are some of the most beautiful 64,000 acres ever!!
