High School Seniors

Today I had the opportunity to talk with some senior girls who are trying to make one of the hardest decisions- where to attend college.

I remember how indecisive I was at that time. I applied to 8 colleges and was actually disappointed when I got accepted to all of them because it didn't narrow anything down for me. I waited until the day my acceptance letter had to be in. My dad was willing to drive my letter to Towson if that was the choice I was going to make. But, in the end I chose Salisbury. Sometimes I wonder what would have been if I went out of state or went to Towson. But God had a plan! I met my husband, attended Bible college, and eventually came back to graduate at the same school I started. ahh the memories!

As these girls stood in front of me, I reminisced about life and my journey. God is good! My YL girls back in Salisbury are also in the midst of these tough decisions and it is so hard not being there. They have continually been on my heart and I know it is because God is reminding me to pray about their future. The girls at the swing reminded me today and I was ecstatic to be able to share only brief moments as they told me about their life. Meeting kids doesn't happen too often as property staff and that is one thing that makes me miss home.

This weekend was the first time running "The Screamer" which is our giant 3 person swing. We got our placements for the summer and I am officially the Zip/Swing Intern. I am really excited thinking to the summer when I get my summer staff to pour into. I pray that God would prepare me to speak truth into the lives of the college students He will put on my team. As the camp places applicants in positions we get a copy of their application. I received my first summer staffer and I am excited because I believe it will change her life. Summer staff changed my life and that is why I am here working at a YL Camp.

Sorry this post is pretty scatter-brained!

First let me say, how is it that you are already out of college and mentoring college women?!? (My college girls are now calling me "MOM" instead of sis...

Secondly your heart is so precious. How envious I am that you get to work at camp...ahhh the days.

Thirdly please pray for me as I am preparing to speak at my first ladies retreat this summer.

Love to you both,
