Watoto Choir
Yesterday started out to be a boring day. We were going about our normal routine in HK when our supervisor asked if we could help her with something. We went down to the gym to be greeted by the Watoto Choir from Uganda. We had the awesome opportunity to belay the kids ont the rock wall and I haven't had that much fun in a while. The kids were so well behaved and thankful that they got to play. They are all orphans that live in the Watoto villages which is a ministry that takes in orphaned kids and abandoned babies. They are invited into a home with a housemother that meets their basic needs. They go to church and school and their lives are filled with hope.
My heart was touched by these kids. Their smiles were radiating and their hugs embracing. After belaying the kids they broke out in a thank you hymn and hugged us. Tears streamed down my face as I looked into these beautiful children's faces. What a blessing to this place that they came to the middle of nowhere (even they said that) to sing to us. They did a full performance and I was in awe from their praise and dancing.
This morning I had the opportunity to put them on the swing. What a blessing that this is my "job".
Thank you Watoto Children's Choir!
